Top of the Lake: China Girl

In case you missed it, Top of the Lake: China Girl is out and the Great Australian public is loving every second of it. Rumoured to have topped Game of Thrones in the charts, this grippingly mysterious drama is currently top of the lake everyone’s watch lists.

Grant Matthews shot the posters for the ad campaign and as you’ll agree if you’ve seen the posters online, on billboards or splashed across magazine pages; the shots perfectly capture the show’s enigmatic energy.

South America

In July, our Silverwater Studio Manager Maria swapped out not so sunny Silverwater and took herself off for a little R’n’R in South America. She shot the following series on a 35 mm lens, and you should brace yourself for major travel envy…

The images were shot in Buenos Aires, Cuba and Peru.

Project Futures Charity Shoot

In support of Project Futures – an incredible charity that connects people to issues of human trafficking, slavery, exploitation and aims to empower future generations to take action – Mondo contributed a photography package as a fundraising auction prize.

Valued at over $1500, the package was comprised of an hour’s photoshoot to take place in our beautiful Waterloo Studio D and also included full retouching services.
We’re so thrilled to have been able to help such an amazing cause and thank Project Futures for the work that they so tirelessly do in order to bring about an end to human trafficking.
All images shot by Lucienne Collier using daylight and a closed set to capture relaxed family portraits.

Content Efficiencies

Say what you will about Mondo, but we’re an efficient bunch. As our clients develop and grow – we’re growing with them; and offering them the services that best benefit their needs. This includes adding videos and social elements to a standard shoot.

It takes just minutes to add in some continuous lighting, and a high-end video can be produced alongside a stills shoot while the model already has their hair and make up done and a stylist is on set. The days output can almost be doubled without greatly interfering with the original shoot; granting the client increased content to spread across their social channels and website.

If you’re interested in seeing how we help you create content with our efficiency practices in mind, please get in touch and email info@studiomondo.com.au.

Baby Charlie

And last but certainly not least, congratulations to our General Manager Alice on the birth of her beautiful little boy Charlie William John Sherman. Born on September 1st, Charlie was ready and raring to get stuck straight into working on the Mondo legacy…

Seriously though, news of Charlie sent the whole studio into a flutter…and who can blame us?!
