As part of our quarterly Community Support initiative, we welcomed twelve boys from the Clontarf Foundation, which exists to improve the life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men, to Studio Mondo for a day jam-packed with photography related activities.
We spent our time with the boys taking them through a circuit of different photography stations; including how to put up a set (amidst multiple comments of “can’t we just use normal umbrellas?”) how to re-touch a photo, and we even managed to get them all to sit still in unison for a group shot.
Mecca Cosmetica launched the Mecca Made campaign in honour of their very own 13 year old signature beauty line. They wanted a campaign that captured how their Living Beauty Lab can influence the lives of all women. With Grant Matthews behind the lens, this shoot featured iconic women from different generations, as a celebration of timeless beauty, fierce femininity and the power of individuality.

Sheike wanted to do something special for reaching the 200,000 follower milestone on Instagram, so we teamed up with them to put together a short celebratory video to mark the occasion in style.
Spoiler: think popping balloons and a whole lotta confetti!

One of Australia’s most recognised accolades within the industry, the SUNSTUDIOS Assistants & Emerging Photographer Award is no mean feat. We were over the moon to hear that our very own Studio Manager, Maria Cruz, landed herself this year’s runner-up prize, receiving high praise from the judges.
Maria’s interpretation of this year’s theme ‘Free’ is testament to the age-old story of abandoning the shackles of the corporate world in favour of deeper creative pursuits. Her subject, Kane, is pursuing his ‘free’, by following a life of creating art – from skin to canvas.
Congratulations, Maria! Click on the image above to check out the pictures, and swing by Maria’s Instagram to see more of her work.
Firm believers in ‘better late than never’, we decided to extend the Christmas festivities this year and opted for a boat cruise in January to celebrate.
Beautiful weather, beautiful food and exceptionally beautiful beer abounded, as the whole team boarded our rather slick-looking vessel for an evening of relaxing, swimming and en-masse chips-n-dip consumption.
